Awards:

Best Animation and Best short film - “Because of Mum” won two categories at the Phoenix Comicon Film Festival 2013, Arizona.

Best Debut and Best Director - The film has other two major аwards at the Bulgarian Film Academy Awards 2013 for Antoaneta Chetrafilova. (Official ceremony)

In an unprecedented gesture in the history of Bulgarian Animation, the director passed her award to the artist Krikor Sarkisian, art director of the film, officially on stage. This created a considerable emotional response in the audience and at the cocktail party afterwards.

Best Visual Solution - The film was awarded at the International Children's Television Festival “Dytiatko”, which takes place in Ukraine.

Best Film: Europe - “Because of Mum” grabbed 3rd place in the “Best Film” category for the European region at the Anim!Arte Film Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Special mention from Valle d'Itria Film Festival - VIA FF, located in Puglia, a southern province of Italy.

Special mention from Athens Animfest - The film was awarded on its Greek premiere in 2015, two years after its international premiere.
