"The Beast is still alive" in competition for the Heart of Sarajevo

July 19, 2016

We are proud to announce that Activist38's latest film “The Beast is still alive” will make its first international appearance at the 22nd SARAJEVO FILM FESTIVAL. Happy and curious about how foreign audiences will react to a fair amount of criticism to popular left movements. Scandalous at home, scandalous abroad, next we should concentrate on making comedies.

The film will compete for the Heart of Sarajevo in the Documentary Film competition. It will premiere August 18th, 2016 at 20:30 in the Multiplex Cinema City - Hall 1 in Bosnia's capital -  where our stormy "Uncle Tony, Three Fools and the Secret Service" did two years ago.

Heartfelt thank you, our team: Editor Donka Ivanova, Sound editor Georgi Marinov, Composer Emilian Gatsov, Camera Plamen Gelinov, Dimitar Kostov and Allie Crawford, Voice over recording Ivailo Stefanov, Assistant Alexander Ugrinski, Social media Boris Loukanov. Co-producer Dessy Tenekedjieva. Actor and general evaluation Roussi Chanev. Other extremely important evaluation came from Ekaterina Boncheva, Marieta Tsenova, Iikka Vehkalahti and Jesper Osmund.

We thank Sofia International Film Festival / Международен София Филм Фест for standing by us with this second film also and for allowing us to have a memorable domestic premiere in the Former Communist Party’s headquarter in Sofia. That event rocked!

Very importantly: Balkan Documentary Center (Agitprop), Institute of Documentary Film, EDN - European Documentary Network, EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs) - Kristina Trapp, Mira Staleva and Sofia International Film Festival / Международен София Филм Фест, Elena Kandeva and our legal representatives "Omnia" - thanks to you we cut down on fear and continued to work!

"The Beast is still alive" is co-produced by the Bulgarian National Television and Nova Film and also supported by Creative Europe MEDIA sub-programme for development and the Bulgarian National Film Centre for production.
